Challenge
The University of Reading wished to improve their student recruitment uptake, acknowledging that they had an image problem. The University was not perceived negatively, it simply was not well known and was seen as a safe second choice, despite being a world leader in many subjects, and wanted potential students to view them as a clear ‘first choice’ University.
Response
Anchored by the key message ‘Are You Ready?’, the new visual identity, which was bold and confident, focused on the outstanding and interesting research driving the University. The brand was conveyed across a multitude of marketing channels, including print and digital advertising, online, and out of home and station takeovers.
